A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that records your heart rhythm continuously over 24–48 hours. It helps detect irregular heartbeats that may not appear during a short ECG. This test is useful if you experience symptoms like fainting, palpitations, or unexplained dizziness.

Why is it done?
Your doctor may recommend a Holter monitor if:

What to expect during the test

- Small electrodes are placed on your chest and connected to a portable monitor

- You will wear the device for 24–48 hours while going about your normal activities

- You may be asked to keep a diary of symptoms and activities during the test

- After the monitoring period, the device is returned for analysis
